The third new moon crescent of the Aviv year was first reported from various individuals in California (San Francisco area). Locations east of the California region will begin the month on the following evening, May 11th. Israel confirmed its sighting the following evening, May 11th.

...The Following Crescent Moon (4th Month):
The following new moon crescent will be the 4th and could be seen as far east as South Africa (Liberia) on Sunday evening, June 9th, but most likely will witness first reports coming from the Americas. Others, including those that follow observances strictly from Israel, will have to wait until the following evening, May 11th.

For 2013, Aviv barley was found in early March (within Israel or the Fertile Crescent) with the first confirmed new moon crescent sighted in the region of Nigeria & Morocco on Tuesday evening, March 12th. Therefore, no intercalary 13th month was observed. This means the Annual Festival Dates will be expected as follows (all dates listed begin at sundown the evening before):
